HP Mini 10 Laptop Review

January 21st, 2010 | Posted by ibohanbi in Computer - (0 Comments)

Today, I bought a new HP Mini 10 Laptop and I would like to write a quick review of the same here on this blog.

The HP Mini 10 comes with pre-installed Windows XP and there is no CD drive. They also do not provide any recvery CD along with the purchase. But the sales guy told us like we can get the recovery CD from any HP Service center by paying some extra money.

Some quick features are: 1GB Ram, 160GB Hard drive, Windows XP, Webcam, etc. They also gave some freebies along with the purchase which include mouse, mouse pad, usb lamp, keypad cover, laptop stand with usb fan, laptop cleaner, headphone with microphone, etc.

The total cost was Rs. 17,990 and I guess it was pretty cheap.

I will write a review on its performance after one month of using it.

Sony Vaio W Series netbook review

January 4th, 2010 | Posted by admin in Computer - (0 Comments)

It’s raining netbooks here in my building. My neighbor just brought home a Sony Vaio W series netbook laptop and it look really impressive.

The netbook looks stunning in Pink color and it’s very thin and light. The design is simply awesome. The keypad keys are nicely placed and the screen is also big compared to my lenovo s10 netbook.

Since it has just arrived, I cannot comment on the performance and the battery life but I am sure it will be good as Sony has a good reputation for their Vaio notebooks. I will be writing a longer review as soon as I get more to write on the same. Have a great day.

Used Laptop buying guide

December 24th, 2009 | Posted by admin in Computer - (0 Comments)

Today I went to sell my used Acer laptop and I was offered 9K INR. This same laptop I have bought some 3 years ago for like 36K. But I think 9K is good because the laptop is already showing a lot of bad behaviors.

First it wouldn’t start up at all. Then if it gets start up, then after running for some time, it will suddenly switch off. It heats up quite high and the battery life is like 0 hours.

So, I have decided to sell the laptop anyway. But I wonder if the new owner will be happy with my laptop? So, whenever you buy an used laptop, don’t forget to check for battery, heating up and starting problems. This is just a hint.

HP Pavilion XP driver problem

December 7th, 2009 | Posted by admin in Computer - (0 Comments)

I have a HP Pavilion laptop which comes with pre-installed Windows Vista and I tried to install Windows XP on the same. But just after installing the Windows XP on the system, I realized that it’s really hard to get the drivers working!

I have been searching the internet for the past 3 hours to get the working drivers but it’s getting kinda boring now as most of the drivers I have found on the HP website as well as other download websites are not working at all.

So, if you guys have any idea how to get HP Pavilion laptop working with Windows XP, please do share the information with me. thanks.

Okay guys, the new Microsoft Windows 7 seems to be very cool and I have already tested the Beta version and I really love it. It’s just like the Vista in looks, but it’s much better than Vista.

Speed and performance wise, the new Windows 7 is better than the Vista. Windows 7 is going to have a starter version which will be the most basic version of the Windows 7. I am not sure what are the extra features other versions of the Windows 7 will have but I am pretty sure Starter Version will be good enough for everyday computing in our personal PCs and laptops.

Lenovo S10-2 netbook review

November 4th, 2009 | Posted by admin in Computer - (0 Comments)

Okay I would like to quick and very short review on the Lenovo S10-2 Netbook Laptop here.

Overall, I found the Lenovo S10-2 very good and handy. The keyboard is quite okay compared to other netbooks and the screen is also good. But note that the screen is VGA, so you can consider this point while buying a new netbook.

The battery life is good and it gives like some 5 hours battery backup after a full recharge. Wifi is good and the signal is quite strong. Sound quality is good but the volume is not high. It’s good only when connected to an external speaker.

That’s all I wanted to say. If you are indeed planning to buy a Lenovo netbook and if you want to get anything clarified with me, just leave a comment below and I will get back to you.

Should I buy a Notebook or a Netbook?

October 9th, 2009 | Posted by admin in Computer - (0 Comments)

So, the question is: Which one you should buy “a notebook or a netbook”. A notebook is bigger and more easy to use while a netbook is more portable and much more cheaper than a notebook.

So, which one you should buy? Well, the answer lies in what kind of laptop you want and what are things that you are going to do on the laptop. If you are trying to do big stuff like editing, compiling etc and if you want to enjoy movies and videos at the same time, you can choose a Notebook. But if your budget is less and you want a laptop just to use for internet surfing and similar stuff, then you can go for a netbook. Well, I myself have both, so I can tell you that this netbook thing is not that convenient to use, specially the keypad because it’s too small!
