I just came back after booking my ticket for going back home. But what surprised me today is the Airlines ticket rates. It was only recently that I use to fly back home for almost Rs. 11,000 which is around $275 in USD. But today I got a roundway ticket for only Rs. 9,000, i.e. one ticket for just Rs. 4500, i.e. around $110 only! The Air Fare has indeed reduced to a great extend and I think this is a very great development.

There are many cheap airlines coming up in the Air Traffic these days. Two of the most prominent among them is the Indigo Airlines and the Deccan Airlines. To take maximum advantage of these airlines, you need to book your tickets well in advance. Because, the more advance you book your ticket, the lesser the fare will be. Say for example, today when I check the fare of Indigo Airlines, I found that the tickets available about two months hence are tagged with just Rs. 3000, that is about Rs. 1500 less from my actual ticket.

The only disadvantage of these low cost flights is their ticket cancellation procedures. In fact, they don’t allow cancellation at all. If you want to cancel, you can ofcourse cancel your ticket, but you won’t get a refund for the same.
